As a small business owner your time is incredibly important and developing quality/valuable content for social media is something that requires a lot of time and effort. So how can you maximize both your time, effort, AND content?
Of course, you can re-post the content (as is) a few times during the month or year. But there are simple ways to repurpose one piece of content to make it look as though you are creating something completely new without spending a ton of time and effort.
Let's say, for example, you have a really well thought out and produced video. Instead of just re-sharing the video over and over, consider doing the following to utilize the same content:
1. Edit out clips
Edit the long form video into smaller clips and sections. Post those clips to your social media and link back to the full-length video. You could even use free tools online to create short GIFS.
2.Transcribe & Blog
Have your video transcribed (check out Transcribe or check out this video for ways to transcribe using your phone and Google Docs). Once you double check to make sure everything looks right and flows, use the text as a blog and add a few photos. If you don't have a blog consider taking certain quotes and using them as tweets or even quote images on Instagram.
While filming your video, have someone take a few behind the scenes (#BTS) type shots. If you're a one-man band, take a few high quality screen grabs from the actual video instead.
4. Facebook/ Instagram Live
Use the topic of your video to do a quick Facebook or Instagram Live session. Pre-promote that you'll be going live and encourage your followers to ask questions and interact. If no one joins or comments, be prepared to use the content you discussed or filmed during the video. Once your done with your live session, you also have another saved video for your social media.
Work smarter, not harder!
