Influencer Marketing For Small Businesses 101

Influencer marketing is defined as:

 

A type of marketing that focuses on using key leaders to drive your brand's message to the larger market. Rather than marketing directly to a large group of consumers, you instead inspire / hire / pay influencers to get out the word for you. (tapinfluence)

 

Influencer marketing has always been around but with the advent of social media, it has taken on a whole new life and has given smaller brands and businesses the ability to participate. There is no longer a need to have a celebrity endorsing your product or services, just get in contact with a microinfluencer on social media and bam.

 

How do you find the right influencers? 

 

Start by checking out the profiles of people that are already following and interacting with you on social media. What types of photos are they posting? How many followers do they have? Do their posts get a lot of comments? You'll be able to figure out pretty quickly if this is someone that mirrors your brand. If you think this person could potentially help promote your brand, reach out (don't be afraid of the DM)! Decide what you would be willing to compensate them with for posts and go from there.
